The Manga LNG terminal in Tornio is the largest and most modern LNG import terminal in the Nordic countries, offering terminal services for northern industry. The terminal accommodates a 50,000 m3 storage tank, an LNG regasification process and LNG vessel bunkering services. There are also filling stations for LNG road tankers. Thanks to the terminal’s northern location, LNG can also be easily delivered to Sweden and Norway.
The LNG terminal in Tornio is operated by Manga LNG’s subsidiary Manga Terminal Ltd, and it offers services for industry and transport. The terminal’s services include LNG storage, bunkering of vessels, truck in-loading and regasification for the local industrial network.
Liquefied natural gas, or LNG, is a cleaner energy solution for industry as well as road and maritime transport – with no need to compromise on efficiency. The volume of natural gas when liquefied is 600 times smaller, which allows for efficient storage and flexible transport by road or sea. LNG generates zero sulphur emissions and meets even the most stringent restrictions set for nitrogen oxide, particle and carbon dioxide emissions. LNG decreases a company’s emissions and the related costs by as much as 85% compared to oil-based fuels or coal. Natural gas and LNG can also be used together with renewable and low-emission biogas.
