Organisation and business

Manga LNG was established in 2014. The company is owned by Outokumpu, SSAB, Gasum and EPV Energy Ltd. Manga LNG is an expert in industrial energy and, together with its partners, it offers cleaner energy solutions with reliable delivery.

The company’s goal is to decrease emissions from industry and transport, to meet the increasingly stringent emissions restrictions and improve the competitiveness of industry. The company’s values include sustainability, responsibility, reliability and efficiency.

Manga Terminal Ltd is a subsidiary of Manga LNG Oy, and it operates the Tornio LNG terminal.

History

The industrial companies in the north started to develop the Tornio LNG terminal project at the beginning of the 2010s. Manga LNG Oy was founded by Outokumpu Plc, SSAB Europe Oy, Gasum LNG Ltd and EPV Energy Ltd. Wärtsilä Projects Oy was selected as the terminal supplier, and the construction work commenced at the beginning of 2015. The first deliveries to customers were made in 2018, the terminal was completed in 2019, and it has been in commercial operation ever since.
